What is “Wellness?” It is a lifestyle. A way of living that encourages good physical and mental health. It is a balanced lifestyle that includes an emphasis on the body, mind and soul.

The UCR Wellness Initiative is a collaborative partnership of campus resources with the goal of helping the campus community along the path to a vibrant, healthy and balanced lifestyle. This will be attained through:

  • Integrated wellness programs
  • Resources that promote the importance of maintaining an optimal quality of life
  • Fostering a culture of health and wellness

The UCR Wellness Program focuses on promoting awareness and education, motivation for positive behavior changes, and influencing campus practices and policy to support a healthy environment.

The UCR Wellness Program - Vision and Mission Statements:

  • Vision - To have a campus community engaged in personal wellness and a vibrant, healthy, balanced lifestyle.
  • Mission - To provide integrated programs and resources that promote quality of life and foster a culture of health and wellness.

The Seven Dimensions of Wellness

Each of the seven dimensions of wellness contributes to an individual’s overall health and well being. These seven dimensions are:

Wellness Tip of the Week

  • Explore what motivates you; discover new hobbies; take a course in a subject area outside what you previously studied or enhance your current skills and knowledge as they pertain to your professional life
