Behavior Change/Lifestyle Management Programs


 

Behavior Change/Lifestyle Management Programs are action oriented programs designed to modify a lifestyle factor and/or facilitate behavior change (i.e. weight management, stress management, smoking cessation, exercise incentive program, etc.).

EatWell Program – back by popular demand!

Various dates/times beginning Tuesday, March 12th, 2013 – Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Human Resources

FREE 1:1 Nutrition Consultations provided by our campus dietitian, Neal Malik, DrPH, RD. During your consultation, you can discuss your goals, ask questions, and obtain resources to assist you with healthy eating habits.

Healthy Habits for a Lifetime

Are You Ready for a New You?

Just in time for New Year’s resolutions, the Healthy Habits for a Lifetime program is an 8-week program designed to provide you with the tools, resources, skills, and motivation to establish lifelong healthy habits and break old “bad habits.” Whether it’s eating right, exercising, quitting smoking, or managing stress, this program will allow you the opportunity to create realistic resolutions, set goals, and change behaviors.

8-week program kicks off on Thursday, January 17th from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. in HUB 269.

 

Alive! A Lifestyle Intervention Via Email

An email-based program, developed by UC Professor Emerita Gladys Block, that guides you to develop new healthy habits by taking small steps tailored to your lifestyle and preferences. Choose a 12-week track on carbs/fats, fruits/veggies, or physical activity. You can also choose to participate in a research study of Alive if you are age 50 or older. Register for Alive today!

8 week challenge to promote and increase stair usage, physical activity and hydration.

Color Your Health

Color Your Health is a month long program to encourage you to consume more fruits and vegetables in an effort to promote overall health and well-being. Your goal is to aim for 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day for 20 days. Color Your Health will provide you with materials and resources to:

  • Achieve 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day
  • Discover new ways to eat more fruits & vegetables at every meal
  • Learn how eating a variety of colorful fruits & vegetables can improve your health

Kick off on February 29, 2012. The program runs from March 1 - March 28, 2012.

Healthy BINGO Challenge

The Healthy BINGO Challenge is a month long challenge that encourages you to incorporate healthy habits into your daily routine. The challenge habits encompass the seven dimensions of wellness including: environmental, physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, social, and occupational. As you complete each healthy habit, you fill in your BINGO card to earn rewards.

It's not too late to participate. Download the BINGO card and contact Julie Chobdee to be added to the list.  

Stand Up For Your Health

The Ergonomics and Wellness Programs are promoting the benefits of standing during the workday by hosting a drawing for a WorkFit sit-stand workstation. Participate in Ergo iSEAT, RSI Guard, and WalkingFit to qualify to win one of 3 WorkFit workstations!

Healthy Highlander Challenge

Adopt ONE new healthy habit. Keep it up for 90 DAYS.

After 90 days you can make it a lifetime habit.

Challenge begins January 25, 2011 and ends April 25, 2011. You can join anytime!

The Healthy Highlander Challenge is a program that encourages faculty and staff to achieve optimal health through multiple dimensions of wellness. It encompasses the seven dimensions of wellness including: environmental, physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, social, and occupational. Upon accomplishing healthy behaviors, you will earn rewards! You’ll also receive weekly emails with tips and resources.

Maintain Don’t Gain Holiday Challenge!   

8-week challenge focused on maintaining weight during the holiday season. The challenge will support and motivate you to maintain your weight, exercise and eat healthy during the upcoming holiday season. The goal of the program is to maintain your weight (no more than 3 lbs. over your starting weight).
